HOWRAGHAT, July 16: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated Vijay Utsav on Sunday at Howraghat. Hundreds of BJP workers and supporters from entire Howraghat MAC participated in the victory day celebration. Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), took part in the celebration.
While addressing the gathering, Ronghang promised to provide corruption-free governance in the district. Highlighting the different schemes designed by the government, Ronghang assured of proper implementation of all government schemes. He determinedly said that genuine poor people’s problems would be worked out and government officials had been asked to work sincerely so that people were not harassed.
Ronghang said that Rs 5 crore would be allocated yearly to every MAC constituency for the development of their areas. Besides, he said that Rs 5,00,000 would be specially released for the development of Howraghat MAC constituency.
Ronghang also spoke on the autonomous Statehood issue. He said, “We are discussing and insisting the government to implement Article 244 (A). Accordingly, we are getting positive support from the government.”
He urged all to support BJP and work for the development of the district. During the Vijay Utsav function, MACs like Khonsing Rongpi, Howraghat, Tarendra Brahma, Lanki Timung, Raju Tisso, Lunsing Teron, Dorsing Ronghang and Haren Sing Bey, chairman of KAAC, were present.
