Rome, July 16: Capital football club AS Roma on Sunday confirmed the signing of young Turkey attacking midfielder Cengiz Under from Istanbul Basaksehir FK in a five-year contract. "The 20-year-old joins for an initial fee of 13.4 million euros ($15.36 million). Depending on the achievement of certain performance targets, on the part of both the player and the club, the club could pay up to an additional 1.5 million euros ($1.7 million) in bonuses," Roma said in a statement. Cengiz has recently broken into Turkey's senior side and has so far picked up four caps, scoring two goals. At Roma he will wear the No. 17 shirt, according to Roma's website.
"I'm delighted to be here and very excited about meeting the fans," Cengiz said in the statement. "My aim is to earn myself a regular starting berth as quickly as possible."
