SHILLONG, Aug 3: Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) Chief Executive Member (CEM) PN Syiem officially released a musical CD album of Campaign for Change (CFC) titled ‘Ka Sur Jingkylla’ (Voice of the State) at Khasi National Dorbar Hall, Mawkhar here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Syiem said, “The CFC is a movement to bring about change in the State so that the future generation benefits.” The CEM informed the gathering that even though the State is approaching 50 years of statehood, it still does not have any proper policy concerning education, farming, employment etc. Syiem urged the students from North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), who attended the event, to protect the unique identity of the indigenous people of the State by organising programmes in different parts of the State. “The songs in the CD will reach out to all the school and college students, including farmers, businessmen, teachers, etc,” he added.
